Open House

Overview

The Bonnell Project is hosting an St. Mary's property open house on Saturday, February 11 from 1 pm to 5 pm, featuring:
  • Chris Scamehorn, CMS Ceramics studio
  • Paul Morehead, animation studio 
  • Greg Holland, art studio
  • Tours of property

CMS Ceramics:

  • Chris Scamehorn will be doing demonstrations of how he make things and also have clay available for those that want to make something.
    • Clay processing using clay from the property at 2 - 3 pm. 
    • Wheel throwing demos from 1 - 2 pm and 3 - 4 pm
  • Gallery will be open for selling work.
  • Tours of the space and what's available (workshops, open studio hours for public access, individual/group lessons, commissions, etc) 
  • Available to talk about Artist Co-Op being formed, e-mail sign-up sheet for those interested in participating. 

Paul Morehead, animation:

Local animator Paul Morehead will be showing his space from 1 to 3 pm. That will be followed at 3 pm by the 'Animating Short Films' class he is co-teaching with Beauty Shop Music Residency February artist, Laura Goldhamer. Laura incorporates animation into her multi-media music performances. You can check out Laura's animation here.

Greg Holland, art/music:

Greg's studio at St. Mary's is both a music and art space where he works on his own initiatives and projects, and offers lessons in drumming, drawing, painting and photography. For the Open House, he will be showing his space from 1 to 3 pm. From 3 pm to 5 pm, his band By The Light will be rehearsing. Greg graduated with a BFA in Painting and a BA in Secondary Education from MUM in 2002. As an Iowa-ceritified teacher, he has taught in various area schools, including Cardinal and Van Buren, and was the art teacher at Fairfield Middle School from 2006 to 2010. He is currently in his second year teaching high school photography at Maharishi School.
